Northeast China's Jilin province recently recorded a strong performance in its tourism industry, with revenue generated by the sector during the Spring Festival holiday period coming in at 7.46 billion yuan ($1.16 billion), representing a year-on-year growth of 49.28 percent, according to local media reports.
Over the seven-day break, tourists made 8.20 million trips to the province, a year-on-year increase of 69.70 percent.
According to statistics, during the period, the province's 22 key monitored ski resorts received 164,200 tourists, and the total tourism revenue was 23.11 million yuan, which was 72.98 percent and 50.64 percent of the figures respectively in 2019.
Cities including Changchun, Jilin and Meihekou boosted the ice and snow tourism sector through the issuance of consumer vouchers, ice and snow ticket packages, and discounted tickets.
Also during the holiday period, 28 key scenic spots and agritourism resorts including Jilin Shennong Hot Spring received a total of 190,300 visits, and their total income from rural tourism was 10.85 million yuan.
