Hechi tops region in tourism recovery in 2020

The city of Hechi in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region received a total of 34.47 million tourists in 2020, with their overall spending amounting to 42.5 billion yuan ($6.57 billion),Hechi Dailyreported on Feb 19.

Hechi topped the region in terms of its tourism consumption recovery rate, and has been among the best tourism recovery conditions in Guangxi.

The 34 major cultural tourism projects in Hechi saw 942 million yuan in investment in 2020.

Eight tourist attractions in Hechi were newly selected as national 4A-level scenic areas in 2020, increasing the number of Hechi's 4A-level scenic areas to 28. Museums, memorial halls and exhibition halls in Hechi received 160,000 visitors in 2020.

The accumulated number of domestic and overseas tourists that Hechi received during the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20) amounted to 162 million, with an overall tourism consumption of 192.3 billion yuan.
