Foreigners spend Spring Festival in Hefei high-tech zone

Many foreign workers in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone (Hefei high-tech zone) chose to stay put during the Spring Festival holiday amid efforts to contain COVID-19.

In this video, foreign workers from local international schools and foreign-funded companies talked about why they chose to stay in Hefei, shared their views on the city's development and expressed their well wishes for the Year of Ox.

In September 2016, the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council approved the establishment of an innovation and entrepreneurship base for overseas Chinese in the Hefei high-tech zone.

In January 2017, the Ministry of Science and Technology approved the construction of the National Sino-German Intelligent Manufacturing International Innovation Park in the zone. The park is the first international innovation park in Anhui province.

In October 2018, Hefei International Talent City, a service center for international talent, started operations.

In October 2020, the YRD Overseas Entrepreneurship Center was established in the zone, becoming the first "mass entrepreneurship and innovation" center for overseas students established by the Western Returned Scholars Association in China.
