With an investment of 119 million yuan ($18 million), a lake-encircling leisure area is set to be built in Changling, Guangzhou's Huangpu district.
Boasting an advantageous location, the project borders Guangzhou Science City in the west, and China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City in the north. There are also multiple mountains lying within 2.2 kilometers of the leisure area.
As both an axis and entrance to the leisure area, Wenjian Road will be landscaped and lined with garbage cans, benches, lamps and a parking lot.
Three fishing ponds in the area will be beautified and form a sightseeing lake to be planted with lotus flowers and dotted with several small islands. The green space north of the lake will be turned into grove, while the space northeast of the lake will be planted with chrysanthemums.
In addition, a circular emergency passage will be built to loop the reservoir, and roadside landscaping will be improved.
