Feb 15: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Feb 14, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 9 new cases of confirmed infections (8 imported cases, 4 in Guangdong province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Henan province and 1 in Shaanxi province; 1 indigenous case in Hebei province), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 61 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,615 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 1.
As of 24:00 on Feb 14, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 4,869 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 4,633 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 236 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.
As of 24:00 on Feb 14, the National Health Commission had received reports of 89,772 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 84,499 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 637 confirmed cases (including 11 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 974,265 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 10,129 were still under medical observation.
On Feb 14, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 10 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 39 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 11 imported cases) and 3 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Feb 14, 396 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 283 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on Feb 14, 11,764 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 10,779 in Hong Kong (193 had died and 10,185 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 48 in Macao (46 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 937 in Taiwan (9 had died and 859 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
