Feb 12: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Feb 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 12 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 7 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Guangdong province, 2 in Sichuan province and 1 in Liaoning province), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 71 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 3,022 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 1.
As of 24:00 on Feb 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 4,846 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 4,597 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 249 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on Feb 11, the National Health Commission had received reports of 89,748 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 84,292 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 820 confirmed cases (including 12 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 973,104 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 13,649 were still under medical observation.
On Feb 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 8 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 38 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 9 imported cases) and 4 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (all were imported cases). As of 24:00 on Feb 11, 487 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 284 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on Feb 11, 11,715 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 10,731 in Hong Kong (191 had died and 10,077 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 48 in Macao (46 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 936 in Taiwan (9 had died and 859 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
