The coastal city of Xiamen in East China's Fujian province has rolled out a series of preferable policies to encourage residents to stay during this year's Spring Festival holiday from Feb 11 to 17 to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, local news reported on Feb 8.
The city will adopt five specific measures to residents, migrant workers, and visitors who pay a visit to Xiamen during this year's Spring Festival to stimulate consumption.
Catering service providers, large business supermarkets, and branded convenience stores are encouraged to provide consumers with shopping coupons through online platforms like Alipay, WeChat Pay, and China UnionPay. The government has also promised to offer financial aid to those offering shopping coupons.
Consumers who check in hotels in Xiamen are entitled to a subsidy of 50 yuan ($7.77) each day.
Subways, the BRT, and buses will offer free rides, while the city's national A-level scenic spots will provide visitors with a 50 percent discount on admission tickets during the Spring Festival holiday season.
