Feb 10: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Feb 9, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 14 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 6 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Shaanxi province), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 102 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 2,960 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 1.
As of 24:00 on Feb 9, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 4,832 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 4,565 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 267 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on Feb 9, the National Health Commission had received reports of 89,734 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 84,129 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 969 confirmed cases (including 17 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 972,332 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 18,742 were still under medical observation.
On Feb 9, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 7 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 42 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 4 imported cases) and 3 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (all were imported cases). As of 24:00 on Feb 9, 555 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 292 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on Feb 9, 11,674 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 10,693 in Hong Kong (188 had died and 9,976 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 48 in Macao (46 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 933 in Taiwan (9 had died and 850 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
