Hechi gains great momentum in agricultural production

Hechi in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has been pushing forward agricultural production ahead of the upcoming spring season,Hechi Dailyreported on Feb 2.

It is expected that the city will achieve an overall crop plantation area of around 1.41 million mu (94,000 hectares) and produce 530,000 metric tons of vegetables and edible fungi, 414,000 pigs, 65,000 beef cattle and 221,600 mutton sheep in the first quarter of 2021.

Currently, the storage of rice seed has reached 465,600 kilograms and the storage of corn seed amounts to 1.61 million kg. The city has stored 146,900 tons of chemical fertilizer and 739.93 tons of agricultural film. It is estimated that the crop plantation area will reach 91,000 mu in January.

Hechi has been implementing methods such as boosting the construction of modern distinctive agriculture demonstration zones in order to expand the plantation scale of vegetables. The plantation area of vegetables in Hechi is now 460,600 mu, with an estimated production of 538,300 tons.

Commercial handling of agricultural products such as tangerines has also been pushed forward, helping the sales of 200,000 tons of high-quality fruit.
