Shenyang museums move exhibitions online in response to pandemic

Museums in Shenyang, the capital city of Northeast China's Liaoning province, have launched more than 40 online exhibitions in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in the city.

Shenyang Palace Museum has launched 12 online exhibitions for citizens, including one for imperial sculptures from the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), one for national treasures collected by the museum and one for imperial clocks and watches from the Qing Dynasty.

Marshal Zhang's Mansion Museum presents nine online exhibitions, including one telling stories about the family of Marshal Zhang Zuolin (1875-1928) and one sharing stories about Zhang Xueliang (1901-2001), Zhang Zuolin's son and a famous patriot. The museum also has an online exhibition on cultural relics of the Tang Dynasty (618-907), which were collected in Northwest China's Shaanxi province.

Shenyang Financial Museum has also launched eight online exhibitions, showcasing the development history and culture of finance in China. The museum is located on the site of the former Frontier Bank, a private bank owned by Zhang Zuolin and Zhang Xueliang.

The 9.18 Historical Museum has staged five online exhibitions, including one recording Shenyang's efforts to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Shenyang Xinle Ancient Ruins Museum is also offering online exhibitions, showcasing relics dating back to more than 7,000 years ago.
