Jan 31: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Jan 30, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 92 new cases of confirmed infections (19 imported cases, 7 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Liaoning province, 3 in Guangdong province, 2 in Fujian province, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Sichuan province; 73 indigenous cases, 63 in Jilin province, 9 in Heilongjiang province and 1 in Hebei province), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 135 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,469 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 2.
As of 24:00 on Jan 30, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 4,708 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 4,399 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 309 confirmed cases (including 5 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on Jan 30, the National Health Commission had received reports of 89,522 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 83,218 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,668 confirmed cases (including 76 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 966,100 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 38,895 were still under medical observation.
On Jan 30, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 19 new asymptomatic cases (including 14 imported cases). 27 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 14 imported cases) and 58 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 1 imported case). As of 24:00 on Jan 30, 910 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 296 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on Jan 30, 11,355 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 10,399 in Hong Kong (179 had died and 9,362 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 47 in Macao (46 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 909 in Taiwan (8 had died and 823 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
