The eighth season of the popular talk show A Date with Luyu, hosted by the renowned TV anchorwoman Chen Luyu who is often dubbed "China's Oprah", has been released on Fujian's SETV this month.

Since its launch in 2016, the program has invited Chinese billionaire Wang Jianlin, singer and actor Andy Lau, star hurdler Liu Xiang, livestreaming celebrity Li Jiaqi and other leading figures from multiple industries to give a glimpse into their inner selves via heart-to-heart conversations.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the host Chen interviewed medical workers and volunteers who fought at the front line against the virus, focusing on the heroic stories of these individuals.

In the newly released season, Chen visits the factory of Fuyao Glass Industry Group and talks with the group's founder Cao Dewang about his new state of mind after the 60 years of ups and downs in the business world. Actresses Myolie Wu, Liu Lin and Tan Zhuo also appear on the talk show to share their views on career plans, work-family balance, age shaming, gender equality and other topics of interest to the public.
