Jan 27: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Jan 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 75 new cases of confirmed infections (20 imported cases, 7 in Guangdong province, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 4 in Gansu province, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Sichuan province; 55 indigenous cases, 29 in Heilongjiang province, 14 in Jilin province, 7 in Hebei province, 4 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Shanghai), 1 new case of suspected infections (an indigenous case in Shaanxi province), and no deaths. 98 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,607 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 1.

As of 24:00 on Jan 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 4,644 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 4,351 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 293 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.

As of 24:00 on Jan 26, the National Health Commission had received reports of 89,272 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 82,774 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,862 confirmed cases (including 111 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 960,962 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 39,811 were still under medical observation.

On Jan 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 61 new asymptomatic cases (including 14 imported cases). 23 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 8 imported cases) and 3 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 1 imported case). As of 24:00 on Jan 26, 991 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 288 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Jan 26, 11,159 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 10,222 in Hong Kong (173 had died and 9,101 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 47 in Macao (46 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 890 in Taiwan (7 had died and 797 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
