Romantic Zhuhai joins the Venice of China (Suzhou) and Hawaii of China (Sanya) to lead 301 prefecture-level cities in terms of obtaining global exposure, according to a Jan 3 report on data collected from Google News, Twitter, and YouTube.
The report covers overseas communication networks that have been constructed by Chinese Cities. It was compiled by the New Media Communication and Education Journalism & Media research centers of Beijing Normal University, chinadaily.com.cn, and GMW.cn (Guangming Online).
Zhuhai stands out with a new city image logo and promotional video broadcast on Aug 25, 2019. As a major branding, the video was seen at Times Square in New York City and in China Southern Airlines flight cabins.
Two months later, the 3rd 21st Century Maritime Silk Road China (Guangdong) International Communication Forum hosted a city image promotional conference. Renowned international communication experts, natives, entrepreneurs, and longtime expats shared stories about Zhuhai.

The livability, romance, and vigor of the seaside garden city were presented to Japanese readers in the cover story of the April 2020 issue of the monthly magazine China Vision.
Zhuhai released the "Incredible Zhuhai" series of micro documentary films spotlighting foreigners in the city in August 2020. City image promotional videos were produced in Spanish and Portuguese, and promotional books were published in Spanish.
