Changchun, the capital city of Northeast China's Jilin province, was selected among the first batch of national demonstration cities for culture and tourism consumption, according to the list announced by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism on Dec 29, 2020.
Changchun's inclusion on the prestigious list makes it the only city in Northeast China to hold the title.
Since it became one of the first national culture and tourism consumption pilot cities in June 2016, Changchun has effectively integrated and coordinated the market resources of diverse industries and fields.
It has implemented various innovative measures and created an innovative culture consumption pattern with classified guidance, comprehensive coverage and deep participation from locals.
In the future, Changchun will closely focus on the construction of its modern metropolitan area and give full play to its leading role as a culture and tourism consumption demonstration city.
It will also cultivate and expand new business forms and models of culture and tourism consumption and improve consumption quality.
