Dec 30: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Dec 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 24 new cases of confirmed infections (17 imported cases, 7 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Fujian province, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Guangdong province; 7 indigenous cases, 5 in Liaoning province, 1 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Heilongjiang province), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 16 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 399 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 1.
As of 24:00 on Dec 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 4,247 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 3,978 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 269 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on Dec 29, the National Health Commission had received reports of 87,027 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 82,037 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 356 confirmed cases (including 6 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 903,528 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 12,846 were still under medical observation.
On Dec 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 17 new asymptomatic cases (including 10 imported cases). 6 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 5 imported cases) and 4 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 1 imported case). As of 24:00 on Dec 29, 269 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 219 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on Dec 29, 9,565 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 8,724 in Hong Kong (143 had died and 7,616 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 795 in Taiwan (7 had died and 661 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
