The 7th National Public Ice and Snow Season launched on Tuesday at Jingyuetan National Forest Park in Changchun, capital of Northeast China's Jilin province.
The ceremony also featured four sub-venues in Beijing, Chengde in North China's Hebei province, Sanya in South China's Hainan province and Shennongjia Forest District in Central China's Hubei province via 5G video connection.
A series of ice and snow activities launched at the main venue in Changchun, including the China Ice and Snow Website Application, the ice and snow season, the exhibition of China's ice and snow sports achievements, the experience of northeast ice and snow folk culture and the exhibition of ice and snow sports events and activities.
As an important part of the event, the 19th Vasaloppet China Changchun Jingyuetan International Ski Festival also kicked off at the ceremony.
The event, including a 25-km and a 2.5-km skiing races, attracted nearly 500 professional skiers and enthusiasts who took part in the competitions.
