Dec 26: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Dec 25, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 20 new cases of confirmed infections (12 imported cases, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Hunan province, 1 in Guangdong province, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Shaanxi province; 8 indigenous cases, 6 in Liaoning province and 2 in Beijing municipality), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 12 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 627 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 2.
As of 24:00 on Dec 25, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 4,193 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 3,919 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 274 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on Dec 25, the National Health Commission had received reports of 86,933 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 81,971 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 328 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 900,482 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 12,055 were still under medical observation.
On Dec 25, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 19 new asymptomatic cases (including 17 imported cases). 10 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and no asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Dec 25, 245 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 202 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on Dec 25, 9,307 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 8,481 in Hong Kong (136 had died and 7,317 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 780 in Taiwan (7 had died and 640 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
