Jiangxi boosts industrial cooperation with Greater Bay Area

An investment cooperation promotion meeting, sponsored by East China's Jiangxi province in order to boost industrial cooperation with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, was held in Shenzhen on Dec 4. Enterprises from Jiangxi province and the Greater Bay Area signed agreements on four foreign-funded projects and 152 domestic-funded projects, with a total contract value of 212.1 billion yuan ($32.47 billion).

Among the contracted projects, secondary industry projects - focusing on industries such as electronic information, equipment manufacturing, new energy, new materials, aviation, and non-ferrous metals - accounted for 80.1 percent. Others include modern service industry projects in the fields of eco-tourism, commercial complex, logistics, and medical services.

Liu Qi, secretary of the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee, said at the meeting that he hoped Guangdong and Shenzhen will further strengthen strategic cooperation with Jiangxi province, promoting a higher level of open cooperation and transferring more high-quality industrial projects to Jiangxi.

"Jiangxi province welcomes more entrepreneurs to develop businesses, make investments, and deepen cooperation in new industries, modern agriculture, modern logistics, finance, and tourism. The two sides could strive to achieve mutual benefits and common development," Liu added.

Wu Zhongqiong, member of the Standing Committee of the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee and vice governor, outlined Jiangxi's investment environment, helping the participants better understand Jiangxi's unique advantages, good industrial ecology, and excellent business environment.

Liu Qingsheng, member of the Standing Committee of the Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee and the city's vice mayor, said that with the opening of the high-speed railway between Jiangxi and Shenzhen, a new era of opportunity will be ushered in for the two cities.

Liu said that the two sides should take this meeting as an opportunity to promote in-depth cooperation, using their advantages and achieving mutual benefits and win-win results.

The government, enterprises, and market should work together towards further cooperation, to jointly make new and greater contributions to the implementation of national and regional coordinated development strategies, and to the construction of a new development pattern.

More than 500 people from leading enterprises, well-known enterprises and key business associations in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area attended the promotional event.
