Dec 7: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Dec 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 15 new cases of confirmed infections (12 imported cases, 7 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Yunnan province; 3 indigenous cases in Inner Mongolia autonomous region), 2 new cases of suspected infections (both were imported cases in Shanghai), and no deaths. 13 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 372 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.
As of 24:00 on Dec 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 3,948 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 3,703 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 245 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and 4 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on Dec 6, the National Health Commission had received reports of 86,634 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 81,719 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 281 confirmed cases (including 6 cases in serious condition) and 5 suspected cases. 883,662 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 5,758 were still under medical observation.
On Dec 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 6 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 8 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 1 (imported case) became a confirmed case. As of 24:00 on Dec 6, 231 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 224 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on Dec 6, 7,659 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 6,897 in Hong Kong (112 had died and 5,567 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 716 in Taiwan (7 had died and 574 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
