Guiyang city and Guian New Area of Southwest China's Guizhou province joined the video conference of the annual Sino-German economic cooperation dialogue on Nov 26 at the Guiyang Foreign Affairs Office.
The week-long dialogue has been successfully held for years, aiming to enhance cooperation between China and Germany and their participation in advancing the Belt and Road Initiative.
During the meeting, representatives of Guiyang and Guian introduced the basic information of Guizhou's hydrogen energy industry, Guiyang's advantages in the development of green energy industries, Guiyang's previous cooperation with Germany in hydrogen energy, and Guiyang's plan for a hydrogen energy industrial cluster.
According to the introduction, Guiyang's hydrogen energy industrial cluster will receive a total investment of 7.7 billion yuan ($1.17 billion) by 2030. The funding will help build a hydrogen energy application network, make the cluster into one of world's first batch of hydrogen energy application demonstration zones and establish a hydrogen energy economic circle.
Guiyang and Guian will seize the opportunity of developing hydrogen energy by increasing investment in related facilities, attracting high-quality talents, enhancing technological innovation and issuing supporting policies.
The two areas also hope to explore the development and application of hydrogen energy with more partners and build a hydrogen energy industry highland in Middle and West China.
