Daxing airport economic zone pins hopes on further development

Beijing Daxing International Airport Economic Zone is set to enjoy a package of favorable policies to foster a world-class business environment. The zone will grow thanks to the preferential policies of Beijing and Hebei province and strive to become a national integrated demonstration zone for greater openness in the services sector.

The economic zone will benefit from the free trade zones in Beijing and Hebei, and help to promote the FTZs in return - true win-win cooperation.

A regulating document for the airport economic zone's detailed control was recently approved by Beijing's municipal government, pushing the area's construction into a new stage.

With ecology as the core and traffic as the context, Daxing's airport area will include two functional domains, three ecological sightseeing spots and 15 blocks.

Meanwhile, the proportion of the residential sector is required to increase – provided the zone meets the environmental protection requirements for noisy areas and that the living space for relocated residents and airport industry employees has been guaranteed. The zone is expected to achieve a ratio of 1:2 for occupational and residential land in the general control area by 2035.

According to an administrative committee person, about 100 billion yuan ($15.22 billion) will be invested in primary land development, infrastructure and other vital projects in the next three to five years.

During a press conference on Dec 3, the airport economic zone's administrative committee announced that it has 80 administrative rights and two public service projects and that Daxing district's government is supposed to wield eight municipal powers.

In this context, the zone will save work time and improve the efficiency of services. With more autonomy for management and innovation, its administrative committee will conduct high-level decision-making, strategic planning and layout and overall coordination.

An intellectual property public service workstation in the airport economic zone has also received the Beijing Intellectual Property Award, which will provide full-range services for enterprises and talents in the zone and create a friendly environment for innovation.
