On Dec 1, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 9 new cases of confirmed infections (7 imported cases, 3 in Guangdong province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Henan province and 1 in Shaanxi province; 2 indigenous cases in Inner Mongolia autonomous region), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 18 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,350 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.
As of 24:00 on Dec 1, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 3,873 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 3,638 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 235 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 5 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on Dec 1, the National Health Commission had received reports of 86,551 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 81,649 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 268 confirmed cases (including 8 cases in serious condition) and 7 suspected cases. 881,135 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 6,753 were still under medical observation.
On Dec 1, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 3 new asymptomatic cases (including 1 imported case). 7 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 6 imported cases) and 1 (indigenous case) became a confirmed case. As of 24:00 on Dec 1, 259 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 254 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on Dec 1, 7,117 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 6,396 in Hong Kong (109 had died and 5,361 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 675 in Taiwan (7 had died and 565 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
