Nov 29: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Nov 28, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 11 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 4 in Fujian province, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Sichuan province, 1 in Yunnan province, 1 in Shaanxi province and 1 in Gansu province), 4 new cases of suspected infections (all were imported cases in Shanghai), and no deaths. 16 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 2,121 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.

As of 24:00 on Nov 28, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 3,843 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 3,589 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 254 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and 5 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Nov 28, the National Health Commission had received reports of 86,512 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 81,598 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 280 confirmed cases (including 8 cases in serious condition) and 7 suspected cases. 879,310 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 8,211 were still under medical observation.

On Nov 28, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 10 new asymptomatic cases (including 9 imported cases). 18 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 1 (imported case) became a confirmed case. As of 24:00 on Nov 28, 279 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 274 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Nov 28, 6,817 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 6,123 in Hong Kong (109 had died and 5,328 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 648 in Taiwan (7 had died and 556 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
