2020 China (Hechi) Silk Conference kicks off in Hechi

The 2020 China (Hechi) Silk Conference and China Silk Fair opened in Yizhou district, Hechi on Nov 25. More than 500 attendees, including leaders, experts, and scholars, as well as entrepreneur representatives from relevant national departments, industries, and associations, gathered together to explore further cooperation and facilitate development of the entire silk industry chain.

The event was sponsored by the Hechi municipal people's government and the China Silk Association. Several guests delivered speeches at the opening ceremony.

Cao Xuejun, deputy director of the Consumer Goods Industry Division of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, made a professional interpretation of the Sericulture and Silk Industry High-quality Development Action Plan (2021-2025), which was jointly issued by six ministries in September this year.

Zhao Jin, a researcher at the China Academy of Social Sciences, shared measures that should be taken due to the COVID-19 epidemic to promote the sustainable and healthy development of the silkworm and silk industry.

Moreover, Tang Lin, president of the China Silk Association, Tao Hu, chief scientist of major projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, as well as several well-known entrepreneurs were invited to give lectures and take part in interviews.

In addition, related signing and awarding ceremonies were also held at the conference, while a group of advanced units and innovative enterprises of the silk industry contributing to the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic were commended.

Hechi will take the conference as an opportunity to build a cooperation platform for silk industry development, as well as to promote more efficient services and a better business environment in the silk industry. In addition, entrepreneurs at home and abroad have been sincerely invited to Hechi to explore the development opportunities of the silk industry.
