The 3rd China-ASEAN Forum on Health Cooperation towards a Health Silk Road is being held both online and offline in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region from Nov 24 to 25.

The forum is being jointly held by the National Health Commission, the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Three proposals have been put forward during the forum, namely carrying out active matchmaking in health development strategies for regional health development, enhancing joint prevention and control of infectious diseases to maintain regional health security, as well as deepening cooperation in talent cultivation and technique exchanges to push forward health innovation.

A total of six sub-forums are being held during the event, of which two were held for the first time, namely ones on emergency health cooperation, as well as cooperation on food safety and nutritional health.

First held in 2016, the forum has helped widen health cooperation between China and ASEAN, achieving fruitful results in several projects spanning the prevention and control of infectious diseases, traditional Chinese medicine, as well as hospital management.
