Nov 25: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Nov 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 5 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Guangdong province and 1 in Shaanxi province), 1 new case of suspected infections (an indigenous case in Inner Mongolia autonomous region), and no deaths. 22 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 536 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.
As of 24:00 on Nov 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 3,809 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 3,523 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 286 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.
As of 24:00 on Nov 24, the National Health Commission had received reports of 86,469 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 81,530 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 305 confirmed cases (including 6 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 877,795 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 11,566 were still under medical observation.
On Nov 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 6 new asymptomatic cases (including 4 imported cases). 18 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 1 (imported case) became a confirmed case. As of 24:00 on Nov 24, 335 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 330 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on Nov 24, 6,445 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 5,781 in Hong Kong (108 had died and 5,274 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 618 in Taiwan (7 had died and 549 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
