Nov 24: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Nov 23, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 22 new cases of confirmed infections (20 imported cases, 4 in Fujian province, 4 in Guangdong province, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Sichuan province, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region and 1 in Henan province; 2 indigenous cases, 1 in Tianjin municipality and 1 in Shanghai), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 15 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 189 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.

As of 24:00 on Nov 23, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 3,804 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 3,501 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 303 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.

As of 24:00 on Nov 23, the National Health Commission had received reports of 86,464 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 81,508 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 322 confirmed cases (including 6 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 877,545 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 11,857 were still under medical observation.

On Nov 23, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 8 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 11 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 6 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 5 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Nov 23, 348 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 345 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Nov 23, 6,365 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 5,701 in Hong Kong (108 had died and 5,267 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 618 in Taiwan (7 had died and 549 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
