Changyu ranks as world's best-selling wine

Chinese winemaker Changyu Group ranked first among the world's top 10 best-selling wine brands in 2020, according to an announcement at the World's Best Selling Wine Brands Blind event in London.

The event, hosted by leading European drinks publication Drinks Business, brought together five wine masters and had them blind sample and assign scores to 13 of the world's best-selling wine brands.

Changyu Noble Dragon, Jacob's Creek from Australia and Villa Antinori from Italy all tied for the first place with a score of 90 points.

"We tasted 13 of the most famous and best-selling wines from around the world, and I gave Changyu Noble Dragon the highest marks," said Patrick Schmitt MW, editor-in-chief of Drinks Business and also a professional wine taster.

He added that Changyu Noble Dragon is a very competitive wine with a rich fruity aroma and highly pleasant taste.

Noble Dragon is China's first and largest red wine brand. It was launched in 1931 and was the first Chinese wine to be sold in Europe.

According to statistics, Changyu Noble Dragon has been sold to 30 countries around the world. As of the February 2020, the sales volume of the wine had exceeded 560 million bottles worldwide.
