From January to October this year, Hechi's total import and export value reached 3.16 billion yuan ($479.98 million), a year-on-year increase of 55.9 percent, a growth rate ranked second among the 14 cities in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

Exports were 520 million yuan, an increase of 11.9 percent, and imports were 2.64 billion yuan, an increase of 69.1 percent.

The main commodities of Hechi's foreign trade are lead-zinc deposits, silver, bamboo, wood and grass products and raw silk.

In order to further improve foreign trade, relevant departments such as the Hechi commerce bureau and Hechi Customs have taken a series of effective measures to optimize services in an all-round way based on actual situations, and striven to reverse the adverse impact of the COVID-19 epidemic on enterprise production and foreign trade.

Hechi has launched the business model of carrying out specific local inspections after direct delivery from port to importers' locations to help companies quickly upgrade their foreign trade business. The model enables enterprises to pick up imported goods upon their arrival at the port and transport them directly to the factory with inspections to be conducted by Customs staff at the warehouses.

This reform not only saves companies a lot of terminal storage costs and inventory losses, but greatly improves the efficiency of customs clearance. The time for customs clearance has been reduced from up to 15 working days to less than two days.

Meanwhile, the city has also strengthened cooperation with the Guangxi Branch of China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation to implement a government support plan for small and medium-sized export enterprises that provides overseas risk protection for the import and export business of 36 qualified Hechi foreign trade companies.

In addition, seven companies participated in the 127th Canton Fair and 72 took part in the 3rd China International Import Expo, where they sought foreign orders through communication and business negotiation with overseas merchants.
