The county-level city of Jiangshan and Kaihua county – both administered by the prefecture-level city of Quzhou in East China's Zhejiang province -- were recently honored by being placed on a list of China's top 100 counties for their excellence in tourism, according to local officials.
The list was compiled by a report on the competitiveness of county tourism in China in 2020, they added.
The report evaluated China's 1,881 counties and county-level cities. The ranking considered several factors, including the enrichment of tourism resources, the tourism economy, the convenience of tourist facilities, the environment and government promotional efforts.
The evaluation also considered the prospective benefits of resource development, market expansion and government promotions, among other factors.
