Licang district in Qingdao, East China's Shandong province, is making efforts to develop its nighttime economy by taking full advantage of its beer and fashion industries.
Tsingtao Brewery No 2 located on Tailiu Road in Licang district is not only a brewery but also a tourist attraction, allowing visitors to experience and learn about the craft of making beer.
A bar was opened at Tsingtao Brewery No 2 this summer to offer up freshly-made brews to the public.
Notable for its architectural style of modern industry, the bar provides not only diverse kinds of beer, but also cuisines and performances.
Covering a total area of 1,200 square meters, the bar has more than 200 seats and eight private rooms that can cater for family parties, business banquets and group dinners.
Open from 11 am to 2 am of the next day, the bar also has an outdoor beer garden where live music shows of every stripe are performed every night from 6:30 pm.
Performers include independent musicians of multiple music genres, including folk, rock and pop.
The bar is committed to becoming a new landmark of beer and fashion culture as well as an entertainment hub, to help shore up the nighttime economy in Licang district, according to local officials.
To further boost its nighttime economy with cultural activities and aid the economic recovery after the outbreak of COVID-19, Licang district launched its first cultural consumption campaign in July.
The promotion event featured markets with exquisite handicrafts such as ceramics, rubbings and 3D-printed items as well as a wide variety of cultural and creative souvenirs.
Coinciding with the promotion, traditional culture performances of poetry recitation, painting, calligraphy and guqin, a zither-like seven-stringed traditional Chinese instrument, let visitors feel the charm of the culture of Licang.
