Xiamen in East China's Fujian province has made a top 20 list titled "Amazing China - the Most Attractive Chinese Cities for Foreigners", and was named the "Chinese city with the most potential", according to the results of a poll released by the Ministry of Science and Technology's State Bureau of Foreign Experts on Nov 8.
The only domestic ranking of Chinese cities as voted for by foreigners, the poll has been compiled 10 times since 2010.
According to the bureau, the voting process for the latest edition involved a large number of high-end experts, including eight Nobel Prize laureates and one Turing Award winner.
The questionnaires involved 23 indicators spanning five fields: policy environment, government affairs environment, working environment, living environment, and science and innovation environment.
Official figures show that Xiamen has won the "most attractive Chinese city for foreigners" and the "Chinese city with the most potential for foreigners" seven times.
In recent years, the city has continuously improved services for foreigners, including government affairs, policies, work, and the living environment, allowing more foreign talents to feel comfortable in Xiamen.
