In recent years, Tian'e county in Hechi has made full use of its abundant forest resources to develop forestry industries like green planting and aquaculture. It has also explored a development pattern that not only protects the environment, but also improves the economy.
In order to promote the development of forestry industries, the county adheres to the principle of "government guidance, voluntary participation, enterprise driven, and market operation." It uses radio, television, and publicity materials to promote the development models, successful cases, and planting techniques of the forestry industries. Relevant policies have also been issued to provide preferential investment in capital, technology, and sales, bolstering the quality and efficiency of the forestry industries.
The county has promoted the implementation of the "base + farmer" industrialization development model by cultivating leading enterprises and cooperatives, guiding villagers to develop an order-based industry economy, as well as increasing income through multiple channels.
To date, the county has established six professional cooperatives of forestry farming, planting, and breeding, including two leading forestry enterprises (cooperatives). It has also developed 20 forestry economic demonstration sites spanning aquaculture, planting, and leisure tourism.
At present, the county's forestry economic development area has reached 896,200 mu (59,746.66 hectares), covering planting, breeding, product processing, and tourism. The annual output value reaches 550 million yuan ($83.12 million), benefiting more than 98,000 forest farmers.
