Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province has secured 18 projects worth nearly 2.79 billion yuan in the first three days of the third China International Import Expo, which is being held from Nov 5 to 10 in Shanghai, local media reported on Nov 8.
Zhejiang Petroleum & Chemical Co Ltd is the big winner among Zhoushan's exhibitors at the expo. It signed cooperation agreements with Royal Dutch Shell PLC and Honeywell (China) Co Ltd with respective investments of $110 million and $100 million.
Zhejiang Ocean Family Co Ltd also enjoyed a rich harvest, securing $185 million worth of orders on 68,500 metric tons of aquatic products from companies in Japan and Norway.
Thirteen projects worth more than 1.5 billion yuan were secured at the agricultural products matchmaking conference held by Zhoushan during the CIIE. The projects all involve the purchasing and processing of farm products.
The Zhejiang International Agricultural Products Trade Center (ZIAPTC) was recognized as the "innovation demonstration zone of Zhejiang import trade promotion" at the expo.
The trade center focuses on the buying and selling of top-quality animals, fruit and vegetables, as well as grain and oil commodities.
In 2019, the trade volume of agricultural products at the center totaled 18.27 billion yuan. Meanwhile, the center traded 20.1 billion yuan of agricultural products in the first 10 months of this year.
The third CIIE has an expanded total exhibition area, with a floor space 30,000 square meters larger than last year. Nearly 50 Fortune 500 and industry-leading companies are participating in the expo for the first time, and the event features international debuts of hundreds of new products, technologies and services.
