The 19th International Student Film and Video Festival, an annual event to recognize young talent, recently unveiled the nomination list for next year in the closing ceremony held in Beijing Film Academy earlier this week.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's festival drew 1,097 domestic and foreign films from 37 countries and regions, serving as a bridge to exchange cinematic art and culture.
Among them, 43 acclaimed films from 17 countries and regions were shortlisted in the nomination lineup, and will be released in the next year's event, said the organizers.
Through development in nearly two decades, the festival has become one of Asia's largest international student film events as an incubator to inspire young artists.
Hu Zhifeng, the festival's chairman and vice-president of the Beijing Film Academy, said at the closing ceremony that this year's event had rekindled enthusiasm of young students keenly interested in films.
