Nov 3: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Nov 2, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 49 new cases of confirmed infections (44 imported cases, 9 in Shanghai municipality, 8 in Guangdong province, 8 in Sichuan province, 4 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 4 in Fujian province, 4 in Hubei province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Shandong province; 5 indigenous cases, all in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region), 2 new cases of suspected infections (both were imported cases in Inner Mongolia), and no deaths. 21 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 514 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 3.

As of 24:00 on Nov 2, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 3,445 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 3,120 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 325 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Nov 2, the National Health Commission had received reports of 86,070 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 81,045 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 391 confirmed cases (including 9 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 863,944 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 15,585 were still under medical observation.

On Nov 2, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 61 new asymptomatic cases (including 48 imported cases). 11 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 9 asymptomatic cases (including 4 imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Nov 2, 725 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 493 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Nov 2, 5,945 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 5,336 in Hong Kong (105 had died and 5,102 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 563 in Taiwan (7 had died and 519 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
