On Oct 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 25 new cases of confirmed infections (24 imported cases, 13 in Shanghai municipality, 4 in Fujian province, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Guangdong province, 2 in Sichuan province and 1 in Yunnan province; 1 indigenous case in Shandong province), 6 new cases of suspected infections (all were imported cases in Shanghai), and no deaths. 24 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,255 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.
As of 24:00 on Oct 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 3,332 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 3,044 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 288 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and 6 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on Oct 29, the National Health Commission had received reports of 85,940 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 80,967 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 339 confirmed cases (including 7 cases in serious condition) and 6 suspected cases. 858,677 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 12,863 were still under medical observation.
On Oct 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 53 new asymptomatic cases (including 39 imported cases). 4 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and no cases became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Oct 29, 592 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 439 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on Oct 29, 5,912 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 5,313 in Hong Kong (105 had died and 5,073 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 553 in Taiwan (7 had died and 513 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
