China (Xi'an) E-commerce Expo opens

The 2020 China (Xi'an) E-Commerce Expo opened on Oct 15 in Xi’an, Shaanxi province in Northwest China, with the aim of further promoting the development of e-commerce, and hosting joint discussions about cooperation opportunities.

Sponsored by the Xi'an Municipal People's Government, undertaken by the Xi'an Municipal Bureau of Commerce and Xi'an Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the Shaanxi Provincial E-Commerce Industry Association and the Xi'an E-Commerce Association, and implemented by the Western International Exhibition (Shaanxi) Co., Ltd., the Expo has 1,500 international standard booths, with a total exhibition area of about 30,000 square meters.

The exhibition space has been divided into seven exhibition areas, namely: the development of e-commerce; the exhibition of e-commerce for supporting the poor; the comprehensive exhibition of cross-border e-commerce services; the exhibition of smart cities; the comprehensive exhibition area of e-commerce; the "Internet-plus" exhibition area; and the exhibition area of e-commerce products.

According to the organizers, the Expo has now been successfully held six times, with strong support from local governments and relevant departments. The cities of Jinan, Xining, Jiuquan, Longnan, Dazhou, Zaozhuang, Lu'an, Shaoxing, Changde, Hanzhong, Tongchuan, Ankang, Hancheng, Shenmu and enterprises including China Railway, CNNC, CRRC, China Unicom, Kangjia Group, Datang, Chang'an Bank, and Gold Group all actively participated in the fair, which achieved good social and economic benefits and was highly praised in the e-commerce field and related industries.

A number of activities will be held during the Expo, including the 2020 China (Xi'an) cross border e-commerce conference, the second China (Xi'an) smart city construction forum, the first China (Xi'an) blockchain industry development forum, the second of China's "Internet+" precise poverty alleviation forums, the third China western county economic e-commerce development forum, and the Hanzhong-Xi'an agricultural business interconnection online marketing brand conference.
