Xi'an integrated circuit industry cooperation and exchange meeting held in Shanghai

The Xi'an integrated circuit industry cooperation and exchange meeting was held on Oct 14 in Shanghai, attracting more than 100 well-known experts and professors from the semiconductor industry, representatives of well-known enterprises in integrated circuit industry chains from home and abroad, and staff from relevant departments of Xi'an's municipal government.

As one of the main activities of the Third Global IC Entrepreneur Conference and the 18th China International Semiconductor Expo (IC China 2020) co-sponsored by the China Semiconductor Industry Association, the China Institute of Electronic Information Industry Development and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, the Xi’an meeting discussed the future development of the integrated circuit industry and the development opportunities of the industry in Xi'an, with the theme of creating the chips of the future in Xi'an.

In recent years, the Xi'an municipal Party committee and municipal government have taken the electronic information industry as a key development field of the city's advanced manufacturing industry, and successively issued a number of policies and measures to support and encourage the innovation and development of the integrated circuit industry and science and technology enterprises.

There are more than 200 semiconductor enterprises, scientific research institutes and related institutions in the city, including more than 100 design enterprises, eight wafer manufacturing enterprises, 13 packaging and testing enterprises, 10 testing and analysis centers, more than 70 supporting enterprises, more than 20 related scientific research institutions, 12 academic education institutions, and 50,000 employees. The development and production of semiconductor equipment and materials comes out of a relatively complete industrial chain, including design, manufacturing, packaging testing and system applications.

According to statistics from the Shaanxi Semiconductor Industry Association, the total sales volume of the Shaanxi semiconductor industry in 2019 was 95.81 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 39.51%. Of this figure, the sales revenue of the integrated circuit industry was 74.05 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 37.41%. Since 2012, the compound growth rate of the integrated circuit industry in Xi'an has exceeded 30%, ranking fifth in the country in terms of industrial scale, and its industrial scale has steadily ranked in the forefront of the country.

It is estimated that by the end of 2020, the total output value of the semiconductor industry in Xi'an will achieve a breakthrough growth, reaching about 100 billion yuan. By 2025, the scale of the semiconductor industry in Xi'an will exceed 200 billion yuan.
