Oct 12: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Oct 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 21 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 4 in Liaoning province, 3 in Guangdong province, 2 in Hebei province, 2 in Shanxi province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Sichuan province), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 9 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 742 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.
As of 24:00 on Oct 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 3,029 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 2,799 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 230 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and 9 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on Oct 11, the National Health Commission had received reports of 85,578 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 80,714 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 230 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and 9 suspected cases. 841,178 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 7,961 were still under medical observation.
On Oct 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 32 new asymptomatic cases (including 29 imported cases). 17 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 1 (imported case) became a confirmed case. As of 24:00 on Oct 11, 395 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 390 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on Oct 11, 5,755 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 5,182 in Hong Kong (105 had died and 4,919 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 527 in Taiwan (7 had died and 488 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
