A total of 1.76 million travelers visited Hechi during the Oct 1-8 Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, generating 701 million yuan ($105 million) in tourism revenue, according to the city's culture, radio, television, sports and tourism bureau.

Data from the Guangxi tourism big data cloud platform showed that more than half of the visitors to the city were from the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

Local healthcare and leisure experiences were popular among the visitors, as were folk activities such as Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations, the Mizhui Tourism and Culture Festival, and the Mulao Harvest Festival.

Countryside tourism became the first choice of many visitors keen for clean air, vegetable and fruit picking, barbecues and camping.

Riding that wave, Hechi has developed diversified products covering leisure agriculture, ecological sightseeing, healthcare, folk culture experiences and red-themed (revolutionary-themed) education in recent years.

The boutique "four-to-five-day Bama + Jinchengjiang + Yizhou + Luocheng", "three-to-four-day Bama + Donglan + Fengshan + Nandan", "four-to-five-day Luocheng + Yizhou + Jinchengjiang + Huanjiang + Nandan", "three-to-four-day Dahua + Bama + Fengshan + Donglan", "four-to-five-day Dahua + Du'an + Jinchengjiang + Yizhou + Luocheng" and "four-to-five-day Bama + Jinchengjiang + Yizhou + Huanjiang" travel routes all gained popularity.
