A large contemporary art exhibition themed, "Endless Succession—Narration of the Yellow River", will be shown at the Yinchuan Contemporary Art Museum in the capital city of Northwest China's Ningxia Hui autonomous region, starting Monday to Jan 31 next year.
The exhibition features 172 works from 66 artists, including paintings, sculptures, photos and folk art works. It explores the culture of the Yellow River and tells its stories in an artistic way.
Fan Di'an, planner of the exhibition and head of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, said the Yellow River has been an important theme of Chinese literature and art since ancient times.
As the symbol of Chinese national spirit, it still inspires artists and touches their souls, Fan said.
