Four industrial design centers from Shenyang, the capital city of Northeast China’s Liaoning province, have been recognized as provincial-level industrial design centers. These centers account for 40 percent of the total recognized this year, according to assessment results recently announced by the Liaoning Industry and Information Department.
The listed industrial design centers involve industrial automation, machinery, robotics and electromechanical development.
Meanwhile, 10 products designed and manufactured by Shenyang enterprises were recognized as provincial-level industrial design demonstration products, accounting for 33 percent of the products recognized in 2020.
Statistics show that Shenyang’s provincial-level industrial design centers and industrial design demonstration products ranked first in Liaoning province.
Since the beginning of this year, Shenyang’s industry and information bureau has focused closely on industrial design, vigorously promoting the integration of industrial design and industry and promoting the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing.
Thanks to the bureau’s efforts, the Shenyang Industrial Design Association was established, and roughly 30 matchmaking meetings were organized, benefiting more than 500 enterprises.
At present, Shenyang has one national-level industrial design center, 16 provincial-level industrial design centers, 21 professional industrial design institutions and 40 enterprise industrial design centers. Also, more than 1,000 people are employed in positions related to the industrial design industry.
