The development of the internet of things (IoT) industry in the Yangtze River Delta region was discussed during the 2020 Huihaiwan IoT Industrial Ecology Summit held in Wuxi National Hi-tech District on Sept 28.
The summit, a key event of the 2020 World IoT Expo, invited about 300 government officials, scholars, experts and IoT industry insiders to talk about the construction of Wuxi's Huihaiwan IoT town and development trends in intelligent computing.
Zheng Youliao, Ni Guangnan, and Xu Lei, all three of whom are academicians at the Chinese Academy of Engineering, as well as other figures gave keynote speeches on new infrastructure, IoT and intelligent computing during the summit.

Huihaiwan IoT town is being co-built by the Wuxi government and state-run technology enterprise China Electronics Technology HIK Group Co Ltd (CETHIK). It aims to help small and medium-sized enterprises in Wuxi boost growth in the IoT industry using CETHIK's platform and managerial experience.
In June, Wuxi in Jiangsu province, Jiading district in Shanghai, Hangzhou in Zhejiang province, Hefei in Anhui province and CETHIK also signed an agreement to promote the integration of IoT sensing, storage, and computing during the 2020 Forum of Major Leaders of the Yangtze River Delta
Chen Zongnian, chairman of CETHIK, expressed hope that more related enterprises could join in the construction of Huihaiwan IoT town to help the industrial town make more breakthroughs in the development of an IoT industrial chain.
