On Sept 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 14 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 4 in Liaoning province, 4 in Fujian province, 3 in Sichuan province, 2 in Guangdong province and 1 in Shanghai municipality), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 5 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 560 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.

As of 24:00 on Sept 26, the National Health Commission had received reports of 85,351 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 80,541 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 176 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 830,723 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 7,160 were still under medical observation.

As of 24:00 on Sept 26, 391 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 389 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on Sept 26, 5,615 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 5,059 in Hong Kong (105 had died and 4,777 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 510 in Taiwan (7 had died and 480 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
