Sept 25: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 8 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 4 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Sichuan province), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 9 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 468 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.
As of 24:00 on Sept 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 2,773 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 2,607 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 166 confirmed cases (including 3 in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.
As of 24:00 on Sept 24, the National Health Commission had received reports of 85,322 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 80,522 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 166 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 829,302 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 6,911 were still under medical observation.
On Sept 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 18 new asymptomatic cases (including 16 imported cases). 21 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 1 (imported case) became a confirmed case. As of 24:00 on Sept 24, 398 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 396 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on Sept 24, 5,611 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 5,056 in Hong Kong (104 had died and 4,758 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 509 in Taiwan (7 had died and 480 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
