The 2020 ASEAN-China Belt and Road Tourism Culture Exchange Week will kick off on Sept 17 at the Guiyang International Conference & Exhibition Center in Guiyang – capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – and run to Sept 20, according to the organizers.

Representatives from ASEAN countries and other countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, or BRI, are invited to discuss opportunities and possible cooperation involving the digital industry.

An exhibition will also be held to show products and handicrafts from various countries, allowing visitors to learn about different cultures and customs.

This year's exchange week will be held both online and offline, with 213 exhibitors presenting products through cultural performances, tourism promotions and offline sales activities until Sept 20 -- while customers will still be able to choose from 350 companies exhibiting thousands of products online, until the end of December.

The offline exhibition hall covers an area of 25,000 square meters with themes on government agencies and international organizations, big data intelligent technology and trade, culture and tourism, as well as leading companies in Guizhou.

In recent years, Guizhou has expanded its communications with ASEAN and countries involved in the BRI.

In 2018, the first ASEAN-China Belt and Road Tourism Culture Exchange Week was held in Guiyang, when an ASEAN-Guizhou tourism culture promotions center was established to give publicity to Guizhou's tourism resources overseas.

Last year, the second event saw the signing of a series of agreements to expand Guiyang's cooperation with ASEAN countries in the areas of trade, investment, education, culture, tourism and media.

This year's exchange week is expected to boost the high-quality development of Guiyang in the area of big data, as well as to increase in-depth cooperation with other countries.
