The construction of a proposed urban agglomeration crossing Northwest China’s Shaanxi province and North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region has made great progress, according to a report in Ordos Daily.
The planned city cluster involves Yulin city in Shaanxi, as well as Hohhot, Baotou and Ordos cities in Inner Mongolia.
They said the cities were important hubs connecting the North China region to the Northwest China region.
The official documents entitled "2020-2021 Hubaoeyu City Agglomeration Construction Key Matters Cooperation Agreement" and "Hubaoeyu City Agglomeration Operation Mechanism" were formally signed at a meeting held in Inner Mongolia’s capital, Hohhot, on September 20.
Under the blueprint, the cities will conduct coordinated development on 18 tasks in the areas of internet infrastructure construction, industry development and environmental development.
Officials said cooperation would primarily focus on the areas along the cities' traffic arteries and the Yellow River.
