It was difficult for Bai Dongchen, a machine tool agent looking to start a company in the International Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park of Waigaoqiao, to imagine that his company would develop so quickly when he first introduced the high-end German machine tool brand EXERON to China seven years ago.
Bai said that it was Waigaoqiao's improved business environment and high-quality services that allowed his company to grow so quickly. Due to its continually increasing sales, EXERON plans to set up a training center, which would be the first of its kind in China.
The industrial park is now home to 41 of the world's top 100 machine tool enterprises, seven of which are in the top 10. More than 150 global machine tool enterprises have established branches in the park, turning it into a hub for high-end intelligent equipment.
A bonded exhibition service offered by the park serves a useful platform for machine tool enterprises looking to display their products in the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone for a long period of time for no additional charge.
Guo Yongjian, manager of the park, said that the Shanghai Municipal Government has rolled out an array of supporting measures to accelerate the development of the city's 26 characteristic industrial parks.
The International Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park of Waigaoqiao plans to continue offering one-stop services to machine tool enterprises and remove trade barriers to domestic and foreign manufacturers, suppliers, and buyers, Guo said.
